Resumption Hacks for the New Year: A Teacher’s Guide to Staying Sane

The first day of school is that wonderful time of year when everything smells new, students are exceptionally courteous, and teachers are energized by a combination of optimism and zeal. The start of a new school year could sometimes feel overwhelming, regardless of your level of experience as a teacher. But don't worry! You can hack your way into a seamless resumption with a little planning and a little humor.

Here are some resumption hacks to help you navigate those first few overwhelming days:

1. Prep Your "Teacher Survival Kit"

Think of this as your first-aid kit but for emotional emergencies. Add necessities such as:

- Coffee, tea, or energy drinks—pick your choice)

- A stash of snacks (because hunger is real)

- Hand sanitizer (kids are adorable germ distributors sometimes)

- A backup plan (when technology inevitably decides to take a day off)
